Overview

Volvo Connect is an easy‑to‑manage customer portal for everything related to construction equipment. The goal was to create added value for customers by providing actionable and proactive insights, along with intuitive interactions. The portal connects users to services such as the Parts & Service marketplace, quotation tools, maintenance and coverage information, and all digital construction service apps — all built on a Salesforce Community platform.

My Role

As the UX Design Lead for the portal, working within a multinational Scrum team, I contributed across the full design and discovery process. This included defining user problems through data analysis, facilitating workshops, generating concepts, and creating prototypes for demos.
I also played a key role in developing a unified design system for all Volvo web applications. This work aligned the evolving brand principles across diverse Volvo Group platforms, ensuring a consistent and cohesive digital experience that strengthens brand identity and customer trust.

Results

The work resulted in the Volvo Connect portal, a centralized digital hub for construction‑equipment customers. It enables:
• Unified Access: Manage parts and service orders, quotations, maintenance plans, coverage, and digital apps — all in one place.
• Actionable Insights: Proactive data and analytics to optimize fleet performance and uptime.
• Seamless Interaction: Simplified communication and transactions between customers and Volvo services.
• Connected Ecosystem: Multiple Volvo services integrated into a single, user‑friendly interface.
• Consistent Brand Experience: A unified design system ensures a cohesive look and feel across all Volvo digital touchpoints.
