ONGOING WORK
Overview
At Volvo Construction Equipment, the electric machines development continues after the successful launch of electric compact excavators (EC15 to EC27) and wheel loaders (L20 to L28). This time, the focus is on the mid-range machines (excavators, haulers and wheel loader interfaces) that can take on some more heavy duty work.
The Users
The focus is on different sizes of dealerships as well as contractors with various roles such as machine technicians, site managers, fleet managers and above all, their operators.
My Role
As a part of a team consisting of developers and designers, I am developing an onboard machine design system together with my colleagues, to achieve a cohesive and consistent UX and UI for medium range machines. Moreover, I am designing functions/features meeting the needs of the operators for these machines in Figma creating wireframes, concepts and prototypes that we test on the real users.
Results
To be added after first release of the interface systems.
